Chocolate Almond Cake

A beautiful chocolate almond cake for any occassion. A cake is suitable for all occassions, not only for birthdays and anniversaries. It's become quite a natural for me to bring a cake when invited to a home meal. Everyone gets to enjoy it and a good homemade cake is always welcomed.

Here's a nice recipe for a good, moist cake that you can bring to any occassion. Decorate it by pouring some chocolate sauce on top and throwing on sliced almond.

250 gm butter

250 gm castor sugar

4 large eggs

110 gm self raising flour

40 gm cocoa powder

100 gm ground almond

2 tbsp milk

1 tsp vanilla essence

1 tsp instant coffee granule

Sliced almond (optional for decoration


  1. Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add in eggs one at a time.
  2. Melt instant coffee in hot milk and pour into mixture.
  3. Mix all the dry ingredients together and fold into the mixture.
  4. Bake for 30-40 minutes at 170ÂșC or until skewer comes out clean.
