Baked Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe.

I simply love this baked chocolate cheesecake recipe. There's no crust at the bottom. The whole cake is wonderfully light and fluffy with a cottony texture. You can eat a few at one sitting. It doesn't really fill you up so it's a great in between meal snack.Enjoy this recipe with your favourite hot drink!

250gm cream cheese

80gm butter

90gm castor sugar

4 egg yolks

70gm flour (sifted)

30gm cocoa powder (sifted)

80ml milk

1 tsp vanilla essence

4 egg whites

100gm castor sugar

1/4 tsp cream of tartar


  1. Beat together in an electric mixer - cream cheese, butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating until well mixed.
  3. Fold in the flour and cocoa powder alternating with milk. Add in vanilla essence.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar until stiff.
  5. Fold the egg white mixture into the flour and cheese batter, one-third at a time.
  6. Pour the mixture into a 20cm round cake pan lined with grease-proof paper.
  7. Sit the cake pan on bigger baking pan with sides and fill the outer pan with hot water.
  8. Bake in preheated oven at 160°C for one hour and 15 minutes. Serve chilled.

Quick and Easy Tips:
Baking the cheesecake in a water bath will help avoid the cheesecake from cracking.
