This wonderful easy chocolate banana cake recipe has been with me for quite awhile. It's quick and easy to whip up for an afternoon tea or for breakfast.
Bananas are a great thing for breakfast and snacks. I just love them. Especially when I have hunger pangs and don't want to overeat, I'll take one with a glass of cold milk. But when there's too many over riping away on the kitchen counter, it's time to add them to your pancake or turn them into a cake!
Ingredients: 125gm butter 250gm castor sugar 2 large eggs 1 cup mashed bananas 250gm self raising flour 70gm cocoa powder 1/2 cup milk 50gm chopped walnut 1 tsp vanilla essence
Cream together butter, sugar, salt and vanilla essence until smooth and fluffy.
Add in mashed bananas followed by eggs and milk alternately with sieved flour & cocoa powder mixture.
Lastly add chopped walnut and mix well.
Pour cake mixture into a 20cm round cake tin lined with grease proof paper.
Bake at 175°C for 35 minutes or until the skewer comes out clean.
